ABOUT US
Old Factory Soap specializes in uniquely aromatic, artisan soap and natural perfume. Created in 2008 as a positive, healthy, and creative outlet, a soap maker and an artist with severe skin allergies founded Old Factory Soap. Each creation is handmade with high quality, natural ingredients, essential oils, herbs and botanicals. We offer our own line of branded products, as well as custom, private label and wholesale options. Over the years we have developed many base recipes, and even started producing our own fresh goats milk (we have a heard of Nigerian Dwarf Goats).
Our packaging is all hand designed in house, with a focus on sustainability and simplicity. Our unique perfume blends, complex and intuitively based, are created using pure plant material. Our base recipes are made from high quality oils, formulated with attention to the healing properties of the ingredients we use. We are based in Hot Springs, North Carolina in Western North Carolina. JONATHAN – SOAPMAKER + PERFUMER Intuitive perfumer Jonathan Savoie founded Old Factory Soap to explore himself and the world around him through frequency in all forms. Inspired by nature and the quest for higher truth and beauty, he weaves aromatic tales from pure plant essences, botanical extracts, and organic oils. Jonathan develops all of our products and soap base recipes in-house and does all of the graphic for design for our own line.
MADELINE – CUSTOMER SUPPORT + PRODUCTION For Madeline, an artist with severe skin allergies, Old Factory was a necessity. When she founded Old Factory Soap, there were no other skincare products on the market that were both mild enough for her sensitive skin and healing enough to soothe the effects of living in a chemical filled world. Exploring the world of natural and herbal medicine, she takes a healing approach to their creations. Madeline also runs the administrative side of Old Factory, and fosters relationships with local herbalists, wild crafters, growers and farmers to supply Old Factory with the freshest, and highest quality ingredients possible.

Here at Old Factory Soap we raise Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Unlike many goat-milk-soap producers, we were soapmakers first and then got into goat husbandry second (instead of the other way around!). In our search for a pure, sustainably raised fresh milk for our goat milk soap line, we were offered a few goats back in 2016 and we have been raising goats ever since!
We have many soap recipes, but our goat milk soap recipe is always our number one best seller. Why? Because goats milk gives our soap an extremely rich & creamy nature that soothes and moisturizes like no other ingredient!

Our products are handmade in the United States with natural ingredients sourced locally and worldwide. We believe shopping local is vital to our communities, and getting to know your producers & their methods will allow you to make informed choices on what you consume. From food, to body care, to everything else – we support local businesses through our own business, and also in our daily lives.

Our soap is powerful support for your skin. A luxury, but also a necessity in our world of unpronounceable preservatives, cancer-causing dyes, and synthetic fragrance. You can trust that our product will always contain the highest quality ingredients – and our labels will always tell you exactly whats in each bar of soap. Any custom soap recipes, we will fully disclose the ingredients used in the recipe.
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainable manufacturing is important to us. Besides our focus on sustainable and natural ingredients, much of our process is done by hand with minimal material waste. We do not use harsh chemicals that will end up in our springs & water sources after they go down the drain. We do not use AI in the creation or branding of any products (which requires an unsustainable use of water). Our packaging is simple and recyclable.
